About Us The Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma consists of 10 ½ counties of extreme southeastern Oklahoma (Atoka, Bryan, Coal, Choctaw, Haskell, ½ Hughes, Latimer, Leflore, McCurtain, Pittsburg and Pushmataha). The Children and Family Services program has offices in five of those counties (Atoka, Bryan, Choctaw, Leflore and McCurtain).Often, because of isolation and the lack of available community resources, the Choctaw Nation clientele are unable to seek out and find ways to help themselves during a crisis situation. Our social workers join with state workers and the courts to insure safe and healthy homes for Choctaw children and families. The program provides advice and counsel to our members regarding Foster Care and Adoption, Family Preservation, Family Violence, Striving for Abuse Free Environments, and Legal Services. The program’s main office is in Choctaw Tribal headquarters in Durant, OK. Children & Family Services also has southeastern Oklahoma offices in Atoka, Talihina, Hugo and Idabel. |
